CASE STUDY: Rotana Luxury Hotel, Sa'adiyat, Abu Dhabi - 2019

BYZANTIVM HOSPITALITY collaborated with premier London-based interior design firm KCA International (www.KCA-INT.com) to create all the large signature-piece chandeliers, including a "hedgehog" fixture consisting of hundreds of solid glass rods mounted on individually articulating arms for random effect, internally interspersed with points of light. We also provided the monumental stalactite chandeliers in the ballroom, consisting of custom, randomly moulded extruded glass tube, cut to different lengths, suspended below recessed architectural lights. Each chandelier averaged 3850 lbs (1750kg) - all weighing in aggregate 77,160lbs (35 tons), covering over 1,670 sqft (155 sqmts). BYZANTIVM oversaw the client's installer throughout the entire process. BYZANTIVM also provided much of the decorative lighting for the common areas and guest rooms, including sconces, pendants, drum pendants, table lamps, floor lamps, smaller chandeliers, illuminated bathroom mirrors, illuminated icosahedrons, and outdoor light bollards.
